The Delonge Martin Trilogy

This is an example for an image

We live in a world where injustice is buried in a fog of law, where the flow of information hides all of importance. We are told we are free. Taught to vote. Yet we hand power to rulers who dictate, tax, imprison, kill and war without seeking or listening to our opinion.

We live on a planet of 'haves' and 'have nots'. Where the rich kill for power while the poor are abandoned to scratch for survival.

We are tempted by all that glows. We talk of change, but can't be bothered, as it might spoil our day. The best of us live with guilt, the worst in denial.

Behind all lurk the Shadows. Fear the Shadows, and all who serve them, for they do not have your interests at heart. Their hearts are hard as stone, their blood as black as oil.

I write in the hope that one day, someone will emerge to change the world.

Peter de Bermingham - A Medieval Musical

When Robert discovered that the 'de Bermingham' family had owned his home town for 500 years, he was quite shocked. No one he knew had ever heard of them. The only reference he could find to them was in the Doomsday book of 1087. It was then that he discovered 'Peter' had started the town's first market place. On the premise that Peter is the unsung 'Hero' of Birmingham, Robert began writing the story. That was in 1985. He soon hit difficulties as he attempted to re-create medieval life in the eleventh century. Not wanting to second guess the detail of which he was uncertain, he let the project sit.

Then in 2006 he hit upon the idea of writing Peter's story as a musical, with less need for authenticity.
